I write the news in easy-to-understand Chinese, and send it to you every weekday.

About the writer

UPDATE (2022) - I’m no longer writing any new articles for Chinese News Club. However, all previous articles remain free to access. I hope you also check out Ka, a new game I built to learn Chinese tones! (on iOS only). If you have any feedback on it, email me at kai@autographlabs.com

你好,我是Kai,来自新加坡,很高兴能和你一起读新闻!希望可以帮助你学习中文。

My name is Kai, and I’m from the sunny island of Singapore. I’ve lived in the United States for almost 10 years, but for the past 2 years, I’ve been based in Beijing, China, primarily for my job.

I’ve been very fortunate to have grown up effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese. I’m also an avid language learner myself – I’m currently learning Japanese, and it’s been a very interesting and rewarding journey so far. I can now read the news and watch TV in Japanese, but there’s still so much more I want to learn.

I like nothing better than to share my passion for language learning with other people, and that’s why I started this newsletter. If this helps you with learning Chinese, I’d be very happy – and I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it!

Check out my Twitter profile @kaihloh if you want to find out more about me or if you just want to say hi.
