#61: 汉堡王上《3·15晚会》

每一年的3月15日,也就是“国际消费者权益日” (World Consumer Rights Day),中国中央电视台 (CCTV) 会播出《3·15晚会》电视节目。
节目中,记者会揭发一些公司欺骗或误导消费者的行为。
揭发 jiē fā = to expose
欺骗 qī piàn = to deceive
误导 wù dǎo = to mislead
因为疫情,今年的节目延后了4个月,这个月才播出。
而今年的节目中,美国快餐店汉堡王成为了焦点之一。
汉堡王 hàn bǎo wáng = Burger King
焦点 jiāo diǎn = center of attention / limelight
少放食材
节目记者接到内幕消息,前往南昌的一家汉堡王店。
内幕 nèi mù = insider information / story
记者注意到,按照汉堡王的标准,“红烩牛肉皇堡”应该放两片西红柿,但员工只放了一片。
此外,员工也在“三层芝士牛肉堡”内少放了一片芝士,就将汉堡交给了顾客。
标准 biāo zhǔn = standards
西红柿 xī hóng shì = tomato
芝士 zhī shì = cheese
员工告诉记者,老板想省钱,所以偷工减料。
偷工减料 tōu gōng jiǎn liào = cut corners
但更严重的问题还在后头。
用过期食材
当店里的面包到期后,员工直接把旧的标签撕掉,换上新的标签。
第二天记者发现,这些过了保质期的面包一样被做成汉堡,卖给了顾客。
有员工告诉记者:“有一次发霉了,是因为面包放太久了。”
标签 biāo qiān = label or tag
撕掉 sī diào = to tear off
保质期 bǎo zhì qī = shelf life / best before date
发霉 fā méi = to become mouldy
而不仅仅是面包,连过期的鸡块、鸡排也没被扔掉,而是经过了同样保存期的修改,拿来卖给顾客。
被问到这个问题时,店长称,这件事已经做了很多年,而且总部也完全知情。
扔掉 rēng diào = to throw away
总部 zǒng bù = headquarters
知情 zhī qíng = in the know
节目播出后,汉堡王发文表示道歉。
《3·15晚会》通常主要针对的是中国的公司。
虽然以前也有美国公司上过节目,如2013年的苹果,但今年,中美关系特别紧张,引发猜想。
