#29: “斜杠人生”其实没那么酷

最近，很多人对“斜杠人生”感兴趣。
斜杠 xié gàng = slash (this symbol: /)
斜杠人生是指同时从事多种职业的人。
它是美国作家 Marci Alboher 在2007年 “One Person/Multiple Careers: A New Model for Work/Life Success” 的书里提出的一种生活方式。
从事 cóng shì = to engage in
职业 zhí yè = occupation
生活方式 shēng huó fāng shì = lifestyle
《纽约时报》在2014年也有一篇报道：“The Lives of Millennial Career Jugglers”。
报道说，越来越多年轻人同时从事多种职业，一生中只做一份职业的想法已经过时。
比如，有人白天是精神病学家，但晚上是DJ。
过时 guò shí = outdated
精神病学家 jīng shén bìng xué jiā = psychiatrist
另外，报道也指出，斜杠人生不只能增加收入，它更是一种身份的认同。
收入 shōu rù = income
身份 shēn fèn = identity
认同 rèn tóng = to agree or identify with
上周，《中国报》（马来西亚）有评论员写出她对斜杠人生的看法。
让我们来看看她怎么说。

《中国报》评论员：“斜杠人生”其实没有那么酷
我没读过介绍斜杠人生的那本书。
我不知道里面有没有写到斜杠生活的艰辛。
但是，我觉得“斜杠”这个几年前兴起的词，真的是美化了这种生活。
艰辛 jiān xīn = hardships
兴起 xīng qǐ = to rise or become popular
美化 měi huà = to beautify
不少人认为斜杠人生是自由、有趣和高收入的生活方式。
我要告诉大家，很多人过着斜杠生活，不是因为他们觉得这很酷，而是生活所逼，才需要同时做几份工作。
这也包括我和我身边的不少朋友。
自由 zì yóu = free (as in freedom)
酷 kù = cool
逼 bī = to force
包括 bāo kuò = to include
也许，我们选择了理想职业，薪水却一点都不理想，为了生活，我们只好找更多机会。
或者，我们是因为选择了薪水理想的工作，却不想放弃梦想，所以开始从事不同职业。
理想 lǐ xiǎng = ideal
薪水 xīn shuǐ = salary
放弃 fàng qì = to give up
我最累的时候一天做四份工作：制作人、节目主持、烘焙师和翻译工作。
制作人 zhì zuò rén = producer
节目主持 jié mù zhǔ chí = show host
烘焙师 hōng bèi shī = baker
翻译 fān yì = to translate
那时，我从早上六点一直工作到深夜，每晚都睡不够。
真的要过斜杠生活，就要不怕累、不怕苦、不怕牺牲。
牺牲 xī shēng = to sacrifice
别人在睡觉时，你可能在工作。
别人和朋友在吃饭时，你也可能在工作。
周末或假期，你更可能没时间休息。
