#48: 53岁的他 今年第24次参加高考

下周,中国将举办一年一度的高考。
对于很多高三生来说,这可能是他们人生中最重要的一件事。
高考成绩决定他们能上什么大学、读什么专业,影响到他们往后的人生。
高考 gāo kǎo = college entrance exam
高三生 gāo sān shēng = third-year high school students
专业 zhuān yè = college major
但是下周的考生中,会有一张熟悉的面孔。
他就是53岁的四川人梁实,今年是他第24次参加高考。
考生 kǎo shēng = exam candidate
熟悉 shú xī = familiar
面孔 miàn kǒng = face
断断续续考了23次
梁实在1983年第一次参加高考。
当时贪玩、不爱写作业的他,没考上大学。
此后梁实复读两年,但都没有考上。
贪玩 tān wán = playful
复读 fù dú = to repeat a grade or an exam
三次失败后,他开始打工,后来做起了生意,收入相当不错。
但是他还一直抱着上大学的梦想,不想放弃,继续参加高考。
断断续续考到今天,梁实已经考了23次。
打工 dǎ gōng = to work for others
收入 shōu rù = income
梦想 mèng xiǎng = dream
放弃 fàng qì = to give up
断断续续 duàn duàn xù xù = on and off / intermittently
他的梦想就是上一所好大学
梁实早已成家立业,是一名成功的生意人,为什么还在参加高考?
成家立业 chéng jiā lì yè = to start a family and establish a career
他说他们兄弟姐妹5人,都没上过大学。
“坐在大学教室里读书,是我的梦想。”
“我一直都希望实现这个梦想。”
实现 shí xiàn = to realize
“我家旁边就有一所大学,我经常去那边散步,感觉大学校园很安静,很纯粹,跟社会上不一样。”
“我喜欢这样的氛围,特别希望能在一所梦想的大学教室里学习。”
纯粹 chún cuì = pure
氛围 fēn wéi = atmosphere
四川大学是他的首选
梁实高考分数最高的时候是2018年,当时他考到了469分。
这能让他进入二本大学,但是梁实说,他还会继续考下去。
“我还是想上一个好一点的大学……不是仅仅为了混一个文凭。”
二本大学 èr běn dà xué = an ordinary class of universities in the Chinese system (not a top university)
文凭 wén píng = diploma or degree
“首选还是川大(四川大学),不过我心里也清楚,这个难度太大了,要600多分。”
“如果川大不行,川师大也可以,也是个非常好的学校。”
今年能不能达到目标?
目前,距离高考还剩下最后几天,梁实也正在做最后的冲刺。
剩下 shèng xià = to remain
冲刺 chōng cì = sprint
“我是从来就没有失去过信心的。”
“我就不相信一辈子都考不上自己想去的学校。”
信心 xìn xīn = confidence
一辈子 yī bèi zi = one’s lifetime
