#65: “我已准备好坐牢”

黎智英 (Jimmy Lai) 因为反对中国政府,经常出现在各大国际媒体的新闻里。
反对 fǎn duì = to oppose / to go against
媒体 méi tǐ = media
其实,他自己也是一家报馆的老板。
他在1995年创办了现在香港最有名的报纸之一《苹果日报》。
报馆 bào guǎn = newspaper company / office
创办 chuàng bàn = to establish
当时,他曾为《苹果日报》拍了一个电视广告。
广告中,他口中咬着苹果,说了这句话:
“每日一苹果,冇人呃到我!(没人能骗我!)”
广告 guǎng gào = advertisement
咬 yǎo = to bite
骗 piàn = to deceive
可是近年来,香港言论自由不断缩小,想帮读者寻求真相的《苹果日报》和黎智英也处在非常危险的地带。
言论自由 yán lùn zì yóu = freedom of speech
缩小 suō xiǎo = to shrink
寻求 xún qiú = to seek
真相 zhēn xiàng = the truth
危险地带 wéi xiǎn dì dài = danger zone
黎智英被列入“祸港四人帮”黑名单
和香港的其它报纸不同,《苹果日报》似乎不怕中国,经常报道对中国政府不利的新闻。
似乎 sì hū = seemingly
不利 bù lì = unfavorable
黎智英也经常参加反对中国政府的活动。
因此,《苹果日报》被视为中国政府的眼中钉,《人民日报》也把黎智英列入“祸港四人帮”的黑名单里。
眼中钉 yǎn zhōng dīng = literally “a nail in the eye” (i.e. a thorn in one’s side)
祸港四人帮 huò gǎng sì rén bāng = “The Gang of Four that is causing the ruin of Hong Kong” (a term coined by Chinese state media)
黑名单 hēi míng dān = blacklist
很多香港公司不敢在《苹果日报》里刊登广告,这几年《苹果日报》都一直在亏损。
为了让公司继续运营,黎智英也只好卖掉自己的一些资产。
亏损 kuī sǔn = loss-making
运营 yùn yíng = to operate
资产 zī chǎn = assets
很多人都很担心,《苹果日报》很快就会破产,或被下令停刊。
但黎智英说,他不后悔。
“我是个除了金钱还需要其它人生意义的人。”
破产 pò chǎn = to go bankrupt
停刊 tíng kān = to cease publication
后悔 hòu huǐ = to regret
“我已准备好坐牢”
今年4月18日,黎智英被香港警方以非法集结罪逮捕。
目前,这起案件仍在受审中。
非法集结 fēi fǎ jí jié = illegal assembly
逮捕 dài bǔ = to arrest
案件 àn jiàn = (legal) case
受审 shòu shěn = on trial
黎智英说,他不会离开香港。
即使他家人有一天必须离开香港,他还是会留下。
他表示,如果他离开,他会感到很丢脸,也会对不起《苹果日报》。
“我已准备好坐牢”,他说。
“到时,我就有机会阅读我迄今未看的书。”
坐牢 zuò láo = to be imprisoned
迄今 qì jīn = so far
“我们唯一能做的是,不动摇,不放弃希望,并相信,正确的东西终将胜利。”
动摇 dòng yáo = to waver
放弃 fàng qì = to give up
胜利 shèng lì = to be victorious

黎智英刚才被警方逮捕了。
