#43: 23岁结束职业生涯

今年六月初,中国著名电竞选手简自豪因为健康原因宣布退役。
著名 zhù míng = famous
电竞 diàn jìng = e-sports (competitive online gaming)
退役 tuì yì = to retire
今年23岁的简自豪是电子游戏 League of Legends 的职业选手。
他在游戏里的名称是 Uzi。
他曾在多项比赛中获奖,包括2018年亚运会金牌。
职业选手 zhí yè xuǎn shǒu = professional player (i.e. pro gamer)
获奖 huò jiǎng = to obtain awards
亚运会 yà yùn huì = Asian Games
6月3日,Uzi 在微博上写道:

“因为常年的压力大、肥胖、饮食不规律、熬夜等原因,我在去年体检的时候查出二型糖尿病。”
压力 yā lì = pressure / stress
肥胖 féi pàng = obesity
饮食不规律 yǐn shí bù guī lǜ = irregular diet
熬夜 áo yè = stay up late
体检 tǐ jiǎn = medical / physical examination
二型糖尿病 èr xíng táng niào bìng = type 2 diabetes
“这半年我有慢慢的改变作息、控制饮食、减肥、运动和吃药,可是情况没有得到改变。”
作息 zuò xí = work and rest schedule / rhythm
控制 kòng zhì = to control
“医生也说如果再继续严重下去,并发症很快就会出现,加上我原本手伤就比较严重,我的身体条件不允许我再继续战斗下去了。”
并发症 bìng fā zhèng = complications
手伤 shǒu shāng = hand / wrist injury
允许 yǔn xǔ = to allow
战斗 zhàn dòu = to fight
近年来,电竞市场发展迅速。
2020年,全球电竞市场总收入预计达10亿美元,而中国市场将占总收入的35%。
迅速 xùn sù = rapid
预计 yù jì = is expected to
作为“国内电竞一哥”,网上有传言指,Uzi 年收入规模已达上千万元人民币。
一哥 yī gē = big brother (i.e. most senior / most famous person)
传言 chuán yán = rumor
但也许我们更应该关注这行业带来的健康隐患。
隐患 yǐn huàn = hidden danger
Uzi 在2012年第一次加入职业团队,他当时只有15岁。
今年23岁的他就已经患上糖尿病,被迫结束职业生涯。
患上 huàn shàng = to suffer from / contract a disease
被迫 bèi pò = to be forced to
职业生涯 zhí yè shēng yá = the entirety / the lifespan of one’s career
健康失去了就找不回来,这代价是不是太高了?
