#60: 台北车站大厅的笑脸 :)

台北车站的大厅该不该禁止人们坐在地板上?
大厅 dà tīng = lobby / main hall
禁止 jìn zhǐ = to prohibit / ban
地板 dì bǎn = floor
今年5月,这个话题引起了争议,我们也做了相关的报道(点击这里阅读)。
当时,反对的民众来到车站抗议。
他们认为,大厅是移工们的聚会空间,不应该被剥夺。
争议 zhēng yì = controversy
抗议 kàng yì = to protest
移工 yí gōng = migrant worker
聚会 jù huì = to gather
剥夺 bō duó = to deprive
但也有民众指出,移工坐在地板上,影响了车站的秩序,不该让他们继续坐下去。
当时,台湾交通部长林佳龙 (Taiwan’s Transport Minister Lin Chia-lung) 表示,将考虑各种方案,希望能找出更好的解决办法。
秩序 zhì xù = orderliness
方案 fāng àn = proposal
这个月,这件事终于得到解决。
台北车站选择的是包容。
车站的工作人员在地板的一些格子里贴上了白色的笑脸。
包容 bāo róng = inclusiveness
格子 gé zi = grid or squares
贴上 tiē shàng = to paste
“黑白大厅”变成了“微笑大厅”。
从微笑到大笑、眨眼笑到酒窝笑,各种笑脸都有。
微笑 wéi xiào = smile
眨眼 zhǎ yǎn = wink
酒窝 jiǔ wō = dimple
而另一些格子里则以多种语言写上“微笑”,例如:
中文、英文、日文、韩文、印尼文、越南文等。
大厅内也将多放40张椅子,让人们坐下。
最重要的是,车站以后不会再禁止人们坐在地板上。
不论是想站或想坐,赞成或反对,车站希望人们都可以在大厅内找到属于自己的空间。
属于 shǔ yú = to belong to
不少移工听到这个消息后都非常感动。
对于一般民众或旅客们,车站的大厅也许只是他们到达目的地途经的一个地方。
目的地 mù dì de = destination
途经 tú jīng = to pass through on the way to somewhere else
但是对于在台湾工作的移工们,大厅却是他们和朋友聚会的唯一去处。
唯一 wéi yī = only
去处 qù chù = place to go
而现在,不管你是谁,台北车站将保持微笑,欢迎你。
